Our experienced technical team will determine and design the application which best suits your needs while taking into account budget and environmental constraints as well as respecting existing norms.
We use AutoCAD and Inventor 3D to design our systems,
conveyors and parts, as well as shop drawings and conceptual drawings.
Atara™ can help you select the precise size, material, design of screw (with or without a shaft) to achieve the best results for your application objectives.
In our conveyor design stage, we consider our clients material characteristics, type of material, behavior of material while being conveyed, granular, stringy, sticky, abrasive etc. These characteristics help us to select the Gear Drive best suited for the application, HP, Speed, Torque, steel used in the screw manufacturing, strength, elasticity (the amount of applied torque available before deformation) and safety factor. Energy efficient motors are used to reduce energy consumption.
Atara™'s design team, will walk you through the selection of materials available for your screw manufacturing. Each grade of steel has its advantages and disadvantages applications, such as sludge, screenings, grit, sticky, stringy, granular, powder and abrasive. Atara offer steels with Brinell hardness from 100 HB through to 500 HB. For shafted screws we also offer hard surfacing and spray coatings.
Our design team, also can retrofit, modify, up-grade, reverse engineer older installations improving performance, maintenance and running costs.

Programmation of the conveying system
Daily, seasonal programs. Timers? Plc? Level sensors?
The client must be prepared to understand that our recommendations may require them to make changes to: PLC program, mechanical changes to existing conveyors, equipment operating sequences and maintenance schedule.
In order for us to evaluate current conditions, we will require the following:
Original: operation & maintenance manuals & drawings
PLC: Flow diagram
Copies of equipment failure reports & maintenance reports
Need to be taken in to consideration
Site Visit 3 days:
(1) Day to observe current operating practices.
(1) Day spent with operations & maintenance personnel.
(1) Day in control room.
(1) Day evaluations.
(1) Day report including modification suggestions.
Minimum one week advanced notice required to set up scheduling.
Technical assistance / services
With more than 50 years of combined experience in shaftless screw conveyors systems, our field service technicians:
Supervise installation and start-up of equipment
Insure on-site personnel receive proper training on the use and maintenance of the equipment
Are available for support by phone or on site to handle any problem that may arise
Our team is expert in trouble shooting, problem solving, modifying existing equipment, optimizing existing equipment, designing specific equipment to meet our client's needs and last but not least, optimizing complete system performance.
We also do onsite service calls.
During these service calls, Atara™ technicians will give a thorough assessment of the condition of your existing equipment, troughs, spiral, liners, gear drives, packing gland and performance ; assess: the remaining life expectancy of each piece of equipment.
Once the pieces have been delivered to site, if required an Atara™ technician will be available to come to site and install the individual pieces, at this time we suggest that our clients take this opportunity to further train the plant personnel on installation and troubleshooting techniques.
Once installed, the Atara™ technician will make sure that the equipment is running and performing as per original or modified design.
